Hardship License Attorney & RMV Lawyer on
the South Shore

In Need of a DUI Defense Attorney?

If your license was suspended due to a drunk driving conviction, you may be able to get a Hardship License.  A Hardship License is also known as a Cinderella License, Work License, or Restricted License as issued by the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV).  These licenses are issued only for a legitimate purpose such as going to work, attending school, or obtaining medical treatment. Hardship Licenses are good for a consecutive 12 hour period, such as 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Obtaining a hardship license can be difficult, especially without a capable attorney. In order to get a Hardship license you must appear for a RMV Hearing and present certain evidence.  This is best left to a qualified Southshore DUI Attorney.  In 2005 changes to the law, known as Melanie's Law, changed the RMV policy regarding who is eligible for a hardship license. Stricter guidelines went into effect with this law. Currently, to be eligible for a hardship license, you may now be required to prove you do not have access to public transportation to your destination. You should be represented by an experienced attorney from the Law Offices of Irwin Pollack when seeking a hardship license.

Lawyer for DUI Defense Handling Hardship Licenses on the South Coast

Whether you need your license for work, school or medical treatment, it is important to be able to keep your driving privileges regardless of a license suspension.  Our DUI Defense Attorneys will aggressively protect your driving privileges and stand at your side throughout the entire process.  If you are a first time offender, you may be granted some leniency if you participate in an approved alcohol education program.  You will expect harsher penalties to be put into place for breath test refusals, drivers under 21 years old, repeat offenders, and for drivers who are convicted for DUI while driving on a suspended license from a prior DUI conviction.  This additional offense can carry a minimum of a 1-year mandatory jail sentence.

If you want a DUI Defense Attorney you can speak with comfortably, who understands what you need, and who is interested in your situation, The Massachusetts DUI Defense Group is the legal team for you.  We will fight to get you results.  Contact us in Southeastern Massachusetts today, at (800) 838-6684.
