If your license was suspended due to a drunk driving conviction, you may be able to get a Hardship License.  A Hardship License is also known as a Cinderella License, Work License, or Restricted License as issued by the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV).  These licenses are issued only for a legitimate purpose such as going to work, attending school, or obtaining medical treatment. Hardship Licenses are good for a consecutive 12 hour period, such as 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Currently, to be eligible for a hardship license, you may now be required to prove you do not have access to public transportation to your destination.
